Nugget of the day: I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. John 10:28-29 There is security in knowing that we are provided for, and we belong somewhere. Knowing we live in a free country, have a family that loves us, a job that pays the bills, and a home in which to relax can provide us with a feeling of being safe and protected. The problem is that many of us get too comfortable in these false securities. Life can change in a matter of days, hours or seconds. Our world can be torn upside down, and we are reminded that nothing in this world is a sure thing. People die, families feud, homes are destroyed, wars break out, jobs are lost, and material things grow old or break. Every day we are faced with reminders that life is not fair and all good things come to an end unless… We have our faith and have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior. Jesus is the only constant in an ever-changing world. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Once we have accepted Him, we are guaranteed a permanent home in Heaven. This home will never be destroyed. We will have a peace that will never end and a family that will always love and protect us. We spend so much time trying to secure peace and happiness on this earth and forget to spend time in the Word. We think that we have plenty of time to turn to the Lord and then a tragedy strikes and it reminds us we only have this immediate moment. My prayer tonight is that we realize the only security we really have is accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We could save ourselves a lot of trouble by finding our comfort in Him rather than earthly things. I pray we learn to appreciate the gifts we are given on this earth and realize they are only temporary. When all is said and done, only Jesus will matter. I pray you know Jesus is your only hope and through Him, you have eternal peace and happiness. Put Jesus first in all you do. Then when trouble strikes, you will be able to withstand the trials and know your security is not of this world. This investment of your time and energy is worth the return. Eternity never ends, and you will never regret living in Heaven. If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior already, then do so right now. Ask Him into your life. Tomorrow might be too late.
